CitiPin is an independent local-guide project that maps the best places to eat, drink, shop and explore across cities in the US, Canada and Mexico.

What we do

We organize real, location-based places into clean, browsable city guides with an interactive map. Every listing is tied to a real address and location so you can actually find it — not a generic top-10 list.

Where our data comes from

Place locations are built on open data from OpenStreetMap contributors, then organized by category and neighborhood. We continually add cities and improve coverage.

How we write our guides

Our flagship city guides are written and edited by hand. For the much larger number of individual place descriptions, we use AI assistance under a strict rule: it may only restate facts we've actually collected — never invent a detail, a dish, an hour or a claim about a business. Every AI-written description is checked against the underlying data before it's published, and falls back to a plain, factual summary if it can't be verified. We deliberately avoid inventing details about individual businesses, whether the copy is hand-written or AI-assisted. Facts like hours and addresses come from open data and can change, so we always encourage confirming with the venue.
