Navy Yard Park reflects the history of Amherstburg Royal Naval Dockyard, a site that operated from 1796 to 1813 on the Detroit River and housed blockhouses, storehouses, a magazine, wood yard and wharf.
Something unique: The dockyard constructed four warships for the Lake Erie detachment of the Provincial Marine.
