About Ancaster
Ancaster is a community within Hamilton, Ontario, founded in 1792 as one of Upper Canada’s earliest influential settlements. It grew into the region's largest industrial and commercial hub by 1823, driven by accessible waterpower and its position at the junction of prehistoric trading routes. At that time, it held the second-largest population in Upper Canada, surpassing both Toronto and Hamilton.
