Apaseo el Alto is a city and municipality in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. It covers an area of 491.81 square kilometres and borders Apaseo el Grande to the north, Querétaro to the east, Jerécuaro and Tarimoro to the south, and Celaya to the northwest. The municipality had a population of 56,817 inhabitants according to the 2005 census.
