About Apex
Apex is a town in Wake and Chatham counties in North Carolina that encompasses the community of Friendship at its southern border. The downtown area was designated a historic district in 1994, featuring the 1867 Apex train depot as a Wake County landmark. This depot marks the highest point on the old Chatham Railroad, which is the origin of the town's name.
