About Bacalar
Bacalar serves as the municipal seat and largest city in Bacalar Municipality within the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Located about 40 kilometres north of Chetumal, it had a population of 11,084 according to the 2010 census. At that time, it was part of Othón P. Blanco and ranked as its second-largest locality after Chetumal.
