The Sauk County Historical Society History Center is located at 900 2nd Avenue. It houses the historic Island Woolen Company Office Building that was constructed in 1917 and sits on a horseshoe bend of the Baraboo River.
The building was designed in the prairie school style by Claude and Starck architects from Madison Wisconsin.
