About Blythe
Blythe sits in the Palo Verde Valley of the Lower Colorado River Valley region, approximately 224 miles east of Los Angeles and 150 miles west of Phoenix. Named after San Francisco financier Thomas Henry Blythe, who established primary water rights to the Colorado River there in 1877, the city was incorporated on July 21, 1916.
