Bolton is the most populous community in Caledon, Ontario, situated beside the Humber River about 50 kilometres northwest of Toronto. Historically defined by a downtown area in a valley through which the river flows, the village extends north and south on either side. In regional documents, it is formally referred to as a Rural Service Centre.
