About Branson
Branson is a resort city in the Ozark Mountains, primarily located in Taney County with a small western portion extending into Stone County. Named after Reuben Branson, an 1880s postmaster and general store operator, the community has grown significantly since its founding. The 2020 census recorded a population of 12,638, which constitutes nearly one fourth of the Taney County population.
