🌳 Park in Cadillac, MI
William Mitchell State Park covers 660 acres on the southwest side of Cadillac, situated between Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac. The historic Clam Lake Canal, about a third of a mile long, runs through the park and was dug in 1873 by city father George A. Mitchell to transport felled trees from Lake Mitchell to lumber mills on Lake Cadillac.
Something unique: The canal is about one-third of a mile long.
