About Danvers
Located on the Danvers River near the northeastern coast of Massachusetts, this Essex County suburb sits close to Boston and nearby beaches. Originally known as Salem Village, it is widely recognized for its connection to the 1692 Salem witch trials. The town also served as the site of Danvers State Hospital, one of the state's 19th-century psychiatric facilities.
