About Derry
Derry is the most populous community in Rockingham County and the fourth largest in New Hampshire, despite officially being a town rather than a city. The area has historical ties to notable figures, including poet Robert Frost, who lived there with his family for a time. Visitors may be surprised to learn that Derry earned the nickname 'Spacetown' because it is the birthplace of Alan Shepard, the first American in space.
