About Framingham
Located in Middlesex County within the MetroWest subregion of Greater Boston, Framingham was incorporated in 1700 and covers 25 square miles. It became the 14th most populous municipality in Massachusetts with a 2020 population of 72,362. Before transitioning to city status on January 1, 2018, it held the distinction of being the largest town by population in the state.
