About Gary
Gary is an industrial city in Lake County, Indiana, situated along the southern shore of Lake Michigan about 25 miles southeast of downtown Chicago. Historically dominated by major industrial activity, it is home to U.S. Steel's Gary Works, the largest steel mill complex in North America. The city also serves as the western gateway to the Indiana Dunes National Park.

Located in Downtown West, the Genesis Convention Center opened in 1981 and has been closed since 2020. The facility features a 24,472 sq ft arena floor with a 49 ft ceiling and the attached Indiana Hall, which seats about 1,200.
