About Huamantla
Huamantla is a small city in eastern Tlaxcala with deep indigenous roots, though it was not founded until the early colonial period in the 1530s. While primarily agricultural, it is famous for its annual homage to Our Lady of Charity, which features street carpets made from colored sawdust and flowers. The festivities also include the Huamantlada, a running of the bulls similar to that in Pamplona.
