About Jocotitlán
Jocotitlán sits on Mexico's central highlands at the foot of the Jocotitlán volcano, with most of its territory lying within the Ixtlahuaca Valley. The region has maintained strong Mazahua cultural traditions since the pre-Hispanic period. While industry now employs about half the population, these indigenous customs remain prominent in several smaller communities.
