About Johnstown
Johnstown serves as the county seat of Fulton County in New York, situated in the Mohawk Valley foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. The city lies approximately 45 miles northwest of Albany, roughly one-third of the way to the Finger Lakes region. It was named after Sir William Johnson, a colonial founder who served as Superintendent of Indian Affairs for Britain and a major general during the Seven Years' War.
