About Kanata
Kanata is a satellite community and former city within Ottawa, located about 22 km west of the downtown core. Before amalgamation in 2001, it was one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada and the fastest-growing community in Eastern Ontario. It sits just to the west of the National Capital Commission Greenbelt as one of the largest communities surrounding central Ottawa.
