About Kennesaw
Located northwest of Atlanta in Cobb County, this suburban city was originally known as Big Shanty before adopting its current name in 1887. It holds a significant place in railroad history as the staging ground for the Great Locomotive Chase during the Civil War. Today, it is home to Kennesaw State University, which serves as the third-largest public university in Georgia.
