Fort Whoop-Up, originally known as Fort Hamilton, was a whisky trading post near Lethbridge, Alberta. During the late 19th century, it served as a center for trading activities before law enforcement arrived in 1874.
Something unique: The illegal sale of whisky was outlawed, but traders charged unusually high prices due to the lack of law enforcement prior to 1874.
