About Metepec
Metepec is a municipality in the State of Mexico located directly east of Toluca at an altitude of 2,635 metres above sea level. It forms part of the Greater Toluca area and lies roughly 50 km west of Mexico City. The name derives from Náhuatl for 'hill of the agave plants', though it is also known as 'Nepinta-Tuhi' in Matlatzinca.
