About Montreal
Montreal is the largest city in Quebec and the second-largest in Canada, situated on the Island of Montreal and smaller peripheral islands like Île Bizard. Founded in 1642 as Ville-Marie, the settlement was built around Mount Royal, a triple-peaked mountain that gives the city its current name.
