About Motul
Motul de Carrillo Puerto serves as the capital of its municipality in central Yucatán, situated about 45 kilometers northeast of Mérida. The city honors former governor Felipe Carrillo Puerto, a key figure who fought against the exploitation of the Mayan people. It is also widely recognized as the place of origin for Motuleños eggs.
