The Elms Mansion

🎟️ Attraction in Newport East, RI

The Elms Mansion at 367 Bellevue Avenue in Newport showcases the work of architect Horace Trumbauer, who designed it for coal baron Edward Julius Berwind and drew inspiration from France’s Château d'Asnières. The gardens were crafted by C.H. Miller and E.W. Bowditch, and the Preservation Society opened the house to visitors after purchasing it in 1962.

Something unique: The mansion was completed in 1901.
