About Oskaloosa
Oskaloosa serves as the county seat of Mahaska County in Iowa with a population of 11,558 recorded in the 2020 census. The area transitioned from being a national center for bituminous coal mining in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to hosting William Penn University today. Visitors can also explore Lake Keomah State Park, which sits four miles east of the city.
