About Perote
Perote serves as the administrative seat for its surrounding municipality in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The city lies along Federal Highway 140 and shares borders with several neighboring municipalities as well as the state of Puebla. As of 2020, the municipality was home to 77,432 residents.
