About Prévost
Prévost is a town in Quebec’s Laurentides region, located north of Montreal within the La Rivière-du-Nord Regional County Municipality. Formed in 1973 by merging Shawbridge, Lesage, and old Prévost, it sits along the Rivière du Nord. The community includes Shawbridge, named for William Shaw, who built the first bridge across that river after settling in Abercromby in 1847.
