Renton lies 11 miles southeast of Seattle, straddling Lake Washington at the mouth of the Cedar River. It is an inner‑ring suburb of Seattle and part of King County. As of 2020 it had a population of 106,785, making it Washington's eighth most populous city and the sixth most populous municipality in greater Seattle.
