About Rochester Hills
Rochester Hills is a northern suburb of Detroit located about 25 miles north of downtown. The area saw its first European American settlers in 1817 and was organized as Avon Township in 1835. While the city of Rochester incorporated in 1967, the remaining township became Rochester Hills in 1984.
