About Saint Helens
Saint Helens sits as the county seat of Columbia County, Oregon, founded in 1845 by Captain Henry Montgomery Knighton and originally named Plymouth. The town’s name was changed to Saint Helens in the latter part of 1850 after its view of Mount St. Helens, roughly 39 miles away.
