About San Andrés Cholula
San Andrés Cholula serves as the municipal seat within the Metropolitan area of Puebla, situated in the central highlands of Mexico. Historically indigenous, the city remains one of two municipalities that comprise modern Cholula, a division dating back to pre-Hispanic conflicts between Toltecs-Chichimecas and Olmec-Xicallancas. The area is noted for colonial era churches featuring Talavera tile and Indigenous or Folk Baroque style, with the church in Santa María Tonatzintla being the best known example.
