Southwest Ranches is a suburban community in Broward County, Florida, situated on the eastern edge of the Everglades within the Miami metropolitan area. It incorporated in 2000 to avoid annexation into Pembroke Pines and preserve its semirural lifestyle. The town is unusual because it consists of three non-contiguous areas, with the two largest separated by 1,455 feet.
