About St. Albert
St. Albert is a suburban city in Alberta situated next to the Sturgeon River northwest of Edmonton. Originally settled as a Métis community, it became the second-largest city in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region after expanding its boundaries in the 1980s. The area first received town status in 1904 and was reached by the Canadian Northern Railway two years later.
