About Steilacoom
Steilacoom is a small town in Pierce County, Washington with a population of 6,727 as of the 2020 census. It was incorporated in 1854 and holds the distinction of being the first incorporated town in what later became the state of Washington. Today it serves as a bedroom community for service members stationed at Joint Base Lewis–McChord, also known as McChord AFB and Fort Lewis.
