Fort Steuben, located at 120 South 3rd Street, is an attraction built in February 1787 by Major John Hamtramck and named for Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben.
Something unique: The fort’s original purpose was to protect the first surveyors in the Northwest Territory from Indians.
