About Tulum
Tulum features the ruins of a pre-Columbian Mayan walled city that served as a major port for Coba. These well-preserved remains sit on 12-meter-tall cliffs along the Caribbean Sea, representing one of the last cities built and inhabited by the Maya. The site remained occupied for about 70 years after Spanish exploration began before being abandoned by the end of the 16th century.
