About Venustiano Carranza
This municipality is named after Venustiano Carranza, the revolutionary politician who served as Mexico’s 44th President from 1917 until his assassination in 1920. He previously led the Constitutionalist faction and played a leading role in drafting the Constitution of 1917 while maintaining Mexican neutrality during World War I.
