Versailles is a home rule-class city and the county seat of Woodford County in Kentucky. Located 13 miles west of Lexington, it is part of the Lexington-Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area with a population of 10,534. The name is pronounced vər-SAYLZ, an anglicization distinct from the French royal city near Paris.
