About Villa de Zaachila
Villa de Zaachila is a town in Oaxaca, Mexico, located 6 km from Oaxaca City within the Zaachila District. It served as the main city-state for the Valley of Oaxaca after the fall of Monte Albán, with Zapotec political dominance lasting until the Spanish arrival. The municipality currently operates with two parallel governments following prominent unrest since 2006.
