About Yanga
Yanga is a municipality in southern Veracruz, situated about 80 km from Xalapa. Formerly called San Lorenzo de los Negros, it was renamed in 1932 to honor Gaspar Yanga, the cimarron leader who resisted Spanish forces in 1609.
