About Boerne
Boerne is a city in and the county seat of Kendall County, Texas, located in the Texas Hill Country. Founded as Tusculum in 1849, it was renamed by German settlers to honor author Ludwig Börne when platted in 1852. The town’s growth from 10,471 residents in 2010 to 17,850 in 2020 reflects its evolving community. It is also the site of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case City of Boerne v. Flores.
