About Davidson
Davidson is a suburban town in Mecklenburg and Iredell counties within the Charlotte metropolitan area. Founded in 1837 with the establishment of Presbyterian Davidson College, the community honors Brigadier General William Lee Davidson, a local Revolutionary War hero. The college grounds occupy land from his estate, which was largely donated by his son.
