About Duarte
Duarte sits in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, bordered to the north by the San Gabriel Mountains. The city lies along historic U.S. Route 66, which now follows Huntington Drive through its center. It was named for Andrés Avelino Duarte, a Californio ranchero who established the community on his land grant, Rancho Azusa de Duarte.
