Located at 342 Main Street, The Vault Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge occupies the historic German Bank building in Dubuque's Lower Main Street district. Designed by architects John Spencer and W.G. Williamson, this three-story brick structure replaced the former Dubuque Miners' Bank building in 1901.
Something unique: The bank was originally started in 1864 by T.H. Thedinga, Dubuque's first German-born mayor, to serve the city's prominent German immigrant community.
