About Fontana

Founded in 1913, Fontana remained largely rural until World War II prompted the construction of a major steel mill by Henry J. Kaiser. Today it serves as a regional trucking hub where Interstate 10 and State Route 210 cross while Interstate 15 cuts diagonally through the northwestern quadrant. The city sits approximately 46 miles east of Los Angeles.
