About Fruita
Fruita is a municipality in western Mesa County, situated within the Grand Valley and bordered by the Colorado River to the south. The landscape features the Uncompahgre Plateau’s pinyon-juniper terrain and the Book Cliffs range to the north. Originally inhabited by the Ute people, the town was settled by farmers after founder William Pabor arrived in 1884.
