About Goderich
Goderich serves as the county seat of Huron County in Ontario, having been founded by John Galt and William "Tiger" Dunlop in 1827. The settlement was first laid out in 1828 and officially incorporated as a town two decades later. It takes its name from Frederick John Robinson, 1st Viscount Goderich, who served as the prime minister of the United Kingdom at the time.
