Osoyoos is the southernmost town in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, situated just north of the Washington border. Its name derives from a Syilx'tsn word meaning 'narrowing of the waters,' though settler-promoters added an 'O-' prefix to harmonize it with other regional place names.
