About Pecos
Pecos sits in the Trans‑Pecos region of West Texas, on the west bank of the Pecos River and the eastern edge of the Chihuahuan Desert. It is the largest city and county seat of Reeves County, serving as a regional hub for ranching, oil and gas production, and agriculture. Pecos claims to be the site of the world’s first rodeo on July 4, 1883.
